WE GIVE OUR BEST IN ALL STAGES OF THE PRODUCTION PROCESS
The pullets enter the farm in the pre-lay phase (around 18 weeks) with the vaccination plan completed and with the respective salmonella control analyses.
From 20 weeks on, the chickens reach their maturity and start laying. They reach full spawn at about 30 weeks with a spawning percentage of about 95%.
After the eggs are collected at the grading center, they are first visually inspected to exclude the non-compliant ones, and later, at the grader, they go through the scope for a more rigorous analysis. The batch is then printed, along with information on the holding mark and breeding method. After this step, the machine automatically separates the products according to their weight, and then they are placed manually in the boxes.
Using our own means, we deliver directly to the stores in a short period of time, guaranteeing fresh eggs all year round.
The quality of the product is ensured through a feed adapted to the life stages of the chickens, guaranteeing all their nutritional needs. In order to guarantee a homogeneous color of the yolk, we bet on adding vegetables rich in carotenoids (beets, carrots, peppers) to the feed or water, thus avoiding the use of artificial coloring.
We comply with the National Salmonella Control Program and regularly analyze the water. All these steps are provided for in our HACCP plan, which, together with the other daily records (production and sales), allows us to know its origin and route from the final product.
Thinking about the environment we chose to transport the eggs in reusable boxes, thus avoiding the use of about 1,500 cardboard boxes annually. The egg cartons (12 pieces) are made from recycled paper.
The chickens’ pastures are free of pesticides, and the manure from them is used to fertilize the land. Thinking about the future we have projected the installation of solar panels to satisfy the energetic needs of the farm.
